Welcome Back!

Sew happy you have come to visit! Today is my turn to show my Tammy Bags. Only finished two, although I have 3 handles and fabric for my third....
My first Tammy bag is my makeup bag for on my bathroom counter. The outer pockets keep everything I use every day ready and easily accessible. Then if we are traveling, just pop it all inside. With a few extras that aren't used as often in the inner pockets, I'm ready to go in no time! The inside is made from some fabric sold at Joanns in their baby department. They call it PLC and it's primarily used for bibs and diaper covers because it's water resistant and wipes clean. This made a lot of sense for my makeup bag that has many opportunities to need to be wiped clean. It's very easy to sew and I've used this type of fabric to make several bibs for my  three nephews babies.

My second bag is my sewing project bag. It normally sits next to my machine, with many sewing accessories like scissors, pinking shears, rulers, pencil, stilleto, etc. I've also attached my antique needle case to the handle with some ribbon. I love to keep my embroidery needles in this little needle case. The inside is filled with my pretty Prescenia embroidery thread, needle threaders, extra pins, and a small embroidery project. There is plenty of room for more!

Please be sure to stop by my fellow creators for today:

Giveaways, pattern tester, and up coming Blog Hop

I wanted to be sure everyone had an opportunity at a couple of giveaways. See the button on the right for Christa's weekly giveaway and see my previous post titled Traveling Stash for my giveaway.

Starting Wednesday is the Tammy Project Bag Blog Hop. I'll post the list of participants Tuesday night. Be sure to stop by to see the list. My day to share is Monday the 17th.

I've been asked to be a pattern tester for a great design called Cedar Creek Star. I've just started and it's turning out great. All cut out and about 1/3 of the blocks sewn. I've been working a 42 hour week lately and camping on the weekends, so I haven't had as much time as I would like to work on it. I hope to finish this week.

Traveling Stash Box

It has arrived! The Traveling Stash Box!
I talked about it a couple posts ago.... If you are not familiar with the Traveling Stash Box, check out Snuggle Up with a Dish from Karma.

I am sooooo excited to check out the contents.....
look what I found inside ....

Lots of cool stuff.....fabric of course, in all sizes and colors from a bag of candy squares to half yards or more, several books and lots of great patterns, an apron panel, a mini quilt kit, and a big bag of notions.
Ok, time to decide.....what to keep, what to add to the stash....

what I chose to keep is the cute puppy fat qtr and 3 fabric pieces in blue, red and brown to coordinate. I added to the stash: a kitty fat qtr, a half of a floral charm pack as well as some purple and yellow yardage.

These boxes are just amazing when you receive one and I am now giving the one I received to someone else. All you have to do is be willing to pay the postage on this box to the next person and follow the rules as they are listed here:

  • Ship box to the next person timely -- and communicate tracking information with recipient.

Important Things to Remember

  • Please ensure that items in the box are quality. If items in the box are poor quality they should be removed. Items that are being removed can be offered for optional inclusion to the next recipient. Poor quality items can be discarded but this should be done with digression.
  • Only include items that you would be proud to own -- this is not a dumping ground for outdated or worn items

For a Granddaughter who loves Tinker Bell

This last one is for a Grandchild that loves Dr Who. It is paper pieced.

A Birdy told me....

It's time to show my creation for the It's for the Birds blog hop. Before we get to that, I want to thank Mary for being our cheerleader, Madame Samm for her inspiration and our sponsor Clothworks La Cage au Birdie .

I had seen a drawing similar to this hanging at a friends house and thought I would try to recreate it. This is my first attempt at machine quilting. I hand appliqued the rooster and chick, then used a stitch in background that reminded me of chickens and a straight stitch in the border. This is a 12 inch finished mini quilt on my Ackfeld table top hanger. I am pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to visit all the creators for today:

I appreciate all your comments and will have a giveaway for all followers who leave a comment. Please let me know in your comment how you follow me. Thanks and have a great weekend.
